Gary Sanders
Gary Sanders’ primary area of practice is civil litigation. He is board certified in Civil Trial Law by The Florida Bar. Certification reflects substantial involvement in the area of civil trial law. Each certified lawyer must pass a rigorous written examination, is subject to peer review and has enhanced continuing education requirements. Mr. Sanders’ caseload includes personal injury, wrongful death and product liability. He practices in the state courts of Florida and the United States Federal District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida.
In 1984 Mr. Sanders graduated, with honors, from University of Florida with a major in Broadcasting (now called Telecommunications). His initial career goal was journalism, but he enjoyed the law and communication course so much that he applied to the University of Florida law school and obtained his JD in 1987. He served as Vice-chancellor of the Student Honor Court while in law school.
Mr. Sanders joined our predecessor firm in 1987, is a member of The Florida Bar and Marion County Bar Associations. Mr. Sanders was a member of the D.R. Smith American Inns of Court from 2001 to 2004 and served on the Fifth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission from 2002 to 2006.
Away from the office Mr. Sanders enjoys spending time with his family and traveling. He is an avid runner and weekend cook. He loves the Gators and the Atlanta Braves. Mr. Sanders is also very active at his church, First United Methodist of Ocala.
