Scott Reichert
Partner Scott Reichert focuses his practice in the area of civil litigation. His primary area is health care law and medical malpractice defense, though he also handles personal injury, wrongful death and product liability cases.
Mr. Reichert is admitted to practice law in the state courts of Florida, as well as the Southern and Middle Districts of the federal courts.
From 1972 to 1976, Mr. Reichert served in the U.S. Air Force as a medic. That experience led him to obtain an associate degree in nursing from Broward County Community College in 1982. He went on to obtain his BA degree in English from Florida Atlantic University in 1985, and was awarded an ESU/English Speaking Union summer scholarship to Oxford University to study literature. He then completed the course work for a masters’ degree in English, and was working on his thesis when he was accepted to law school at the University of Florida. Mr. Reichert obtained his JD in 1990. He joined our predecessor firm in 1993.
Mr. Reichert is a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Sigma Tau Delta. He is active in the First United Methodist Church of Ocala where he leads adult Sunday school and evening Bible study classes.
Mr. Reichert’s leisure-time passion is playing the mandolin and bouzouki. Playing guitar since his teen years, Mr. Reichert has enjoyed playing in a gospel/bluegrass band for local civic and church gatherings. Each June he attends an annual acoustic music camp in Tennessee where he joins other “flatpickers” for a week of play and instruction.
